(Note: for this option, you are responsible for your own budget, meaning you will need to supply your own funds and enter billing information before running your campaign in AdWords)

Make sure to title your campaign name your student ID and that you uncheck Display Network

  1. Bid strategy should be set to Manual: Manual CPC
  2. Check the box next to Enable Enhanced CPC
  3. Budget needs to be set at $10.00-$15.00 per day depending on your budget
  4. Your ads will run for 5 days. First, your reviewer needs to approve your ads so you'll set an end date in part two of the project.

Provide a Default bid that reflects your keyword research, the conversion value, and the estimated conversion rate. To help you with that, assume a conversion value of $60 per new customer. Assuming a conversion rate of 5%, a default bid of $3.00 is a reasonable start.

Create your Ad Group

  2. Name your Ad Group: the name of your Ad Group should be descriptive, e.g. map to either stage of the customer journey, audience segmentation, or aspect of the course
  3. Bid should be automatically completed with the value you set on the previous page
  4. Add at least 20 keywords to your Ad Group either separated by commas or one per line
  5. Since you will be creating two Ad Groups for this project, click on New Ad Group and follow directions 1-4 again.

Once you’ve created both ads for this Ad Group, scroll down to the second Ad Group and click on the + to create your ads for Ad Group 2 (Note: Make sure to take screenshots of each of the ads for your project submission.
When you’ve built all of the ads for your campaign, click on Review campaign

Once you save your campaign, go to the Campaign page, click more details, pause your campaign and take a final screenshot for your project submission.
Make sure that your campaign is set to paused.

Make Sure Your Campaign is Paused

In order to get the best results, it's important to leave your campaign paused before you complete building it out. You want to make sure that you have made the proper changes required, and that your reviewer approves part one of your project. This will ensure that once you get to part two of your project, your campaign will harness the best results possible.

Pausing your campaign by clicking the top left button next to "Campaign Status."
